  1. I have a Samsung HMX-H205 High-Def Camcorder.

I believe it saves footage shot on the camcorder as 1920 X 1080 (60i).

I'm trying and trying to import the footage using multiAVCHD in order to create an AVCHD DVD on a regular DVD5 DVD.

Once the disc is created using imgBurn and I try to play it in my BluRay player, the audio is about 4-5 seconds ahead of the video.

I'm making sure I'm going into the "Transcode" option in multiAVCHD to adjust it from what it initially detects at 59.94, down to a recommended 29.97. I've also read that I should adjust it to 23.976 instead of 29.97.

HIGHLY frustrated! I'm shooting this nice footage that I can't seem at all to get over to a DVD to view!

Any suggestions are highly appreciated or should I just bite the bullet and buy a BluRay burner and convert the footage straight out of the camera to a BluRay disc using software that will of course allow me to put navigational menus on the BluRay disc and so forth?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure on the speed setting from 60fps. I can't help there.

BUT if you were considering getting a bluray burner does that mean you do have a bluray player?

If so then why not try avchd? You can keep the hd and put it on a dvdr. If the file is small enough to put on a single layer or dual layer disc you will not need to reencode it at all. If it is larger than a dvdr you can have multiavchd transcode it in hd to fit the dvdr of your choice (dl or sl).

If it is small enough to fit a sl or dl disc the creation of a avhcd takes almost no time at all even on a dual core pc.

Try that option first before fiddling more on the 60-30 fps issue. I am not sure on the correct answer for that for a true dvd creation. BUT with avchd you won't have to worry about that and can preserve the hd.

Just make sure your bluray player can play avchd - if it is a playstation 3 it can (I have made plenty of avhcd discs with multiavchd and my ps3 plays them just fine).

  3. Yes, I have an LG bluray player. It will play an avchd dvd, but when doing so after processing my camcorder footage in multiavchd, the audio plays about 4 seconds earlier than the video. So, the resulting video is unwatchable.

I was under the impression that if my footage was recorded in 59.94i, I had to transcode it to 29.97 in multiavchd in order for the resulting avchd dvd to be created successfully. So u are saying I should be able to leave the footage as 59.97 while working in it in multiavchd?

Try making an avchd without adjusting the frame rate and see what happens.
