Does anyone have a Magnavox MRV700?

I have had a problem with it going into mode then just shutting off. Now I can't get a disc out, it wont read it, but just turns off.

Unplug it from wall for a minute & plug back in.

But I did a little search , and think the problem could be caused from the input signal ... here's a place where there's some talk about these device's

Actual link may not alway's be around , you might want to get cutepdf which use's ghost script , and print the information off as a pdf for future reference ... alway's handy when considering such information may change or completely disappear .

http://www.dbstalk.com/archive/index.php/t-42276.html ... a bit of a read , but might point to the reason being the input will not support progressive scan though this in reference to dish network , and not game recording ... but knowing how consoles work ... it's likely to be an issue ... similar to the ps2 asking the question about frequency output before using the device to play game's .

There seem's to be a setup option from the menu to tell the device how it should record ... read some of the advice , and compare it too the current manual provided with the unit , might be the ticket required .

As for the "no eject" ... it come's down to three possibilities .

One being the end result of the recording causing the system an issue in determining what is on the disc as being unrecognizable .

The second , make sure you have the device on an appropriate power board with spike protection ... which retailer's don't always tell the end consumer to watch out for ... one blip in the power and it can be "game over" .

The last is a pain in the a*** as it requires confirming the media using a pc , before even using it with the device , which is recommended .

Just check the media used ... the correct type for the device in reference to + / - and other allowed factor's ... and pre-confirm the quality prior to using it in the device using nero cd/dvd tool's ... poor quality disc's can play havoc with these device's and cause common issue's .

Of course the drive on the pc must be compatible with the required media format needed ... another problem that may need checking out .

I don't own one , so I cannot reference an accurate method of determining the possible fault , nor a direct solution for the fault ... this is why I have given you several possibilities , worthy of checking that may result in a possible work around to the current issue's with the device .
