Hey all, I have some VCDs containing the entire run of Beavis and Butthead (I believe it's 28 VCDs total). Normally in this case, I would just transfer multiple VCDs to one DVD, but there is something diferent about this situation; each VCD has an interactive menu that I would like to keep.
My question is, is there any way to put many of these discs and a "main menu" (a menu that would appear first; and then would take you to that particular VCD's original main menu, where I would normally select an ep from there) onto a larger DVD? Sort of like this:
New main menu (which choices like "VCD 1", "VCD 2", etc...; as I plan to put multiple VCDs onto one DVD)------->VCD's original menu (with episode choices), based on what choice was made in newer main menu.
I apologize I am not too clear.

No, I don't think there is, unless you re-create the VCD menu using some DVD menu tool. Even if the VCD video is also DVD compliant, the menu system is not.

What software are you planning to use?...if you would be using TMPGenc DVD Author for example, you can create a Main Menu for VCDs which would be the track menu and a submenu for each track which would be the chapter menu or the episodes in each of your VCD....but you will have to encode each of your VCD so you can separate them by Track

Use VCDEasy's VCDxRip tool and rip the titles AND the menus to HD. If they're hi-rez VCD menus, they'll be dual-muxed still mpegs (352x240 and 704x480 if NTSC). These can be demuxed and the 704 one used directly by Authoring apps that accept still mpegs, or opened in Vdub and exported to a still picture format that will be usable by all the authoring apps that didn't support it but do support still pictures.
The button system isn't transferrable, but you can use the XML from vcdxrip as a guide to manually recreating the logic in a DVD Authoring app. I've done this (just what you're talking about) a number of times.
