first, since you are on aMacbook Pro, this is an intel chip
based macintosh. Are you running Final Cut Pro 5.12 or higher?
Second, this might point to your problem:
Dirty FCP Preferences.
Preference files for FCP are found in User/Library/preferences/final cut pro user data... trash the preference file there, then restart FCP.
Also keep on hand a copy of FCP Rescue for future sakes, to prevent this happening again"Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

why roll your eyes....you didn't mention the version before?
and yes there is a 5.12 I mentioned it because it fixes issues
with
WAIT FOR IT
Sony HandyCams
get it here:
FCP Updates for Smart Alecks
not to sound an @$$ and it may be a language barrier issue,
but if you only give half the info in the BEGINNING
don't get testy when someone points out that a version was released
that fixes your issue is handy."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

ok i will try it.
i wish it fixes the problem.
but is that why that i cannot capture???
i mean, is it normal to have that kind of problems in 5.0 version?guven -
Sony is Notorious for changing drivers/driver specifications
on their products, all because of a Napolean complex.
JVC, Canon, and Panasonic all seem to comply with Apple
BEFOREHAND, why can't Sony? Email them and ask them.
There is nothing wrong with Apple's FCP, the fault lies
with Sony changing the 1334/1394 driver spec for
their cameras. Apple supplies specs for their default
FW driver, Sony says "uhn-uhn. We want it this Way".
and then Apple has to patch the software to make things
compliant, with Sony. So is it fair? no.
Is it normal? by Sony's standards, yes."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
