Hi,

What is the normal usage for TDA2.0 during a basic menu authoring project??? My cpu is tapping out at 100% and it is showing a 2 hour time completion for authoring a 5gb (transcoded down to 4.3gb with internal transcoder). This is the second time today.

I took a 3 hour and 10 minute recording - edited out the commercials - and authored it to a basic no frills menu - just the picture of the single show. It was about 5gbs and I had it set to transcode to single layer. Normally it takes 30minutes to 40minutes on my emachine 2.66ghz celeron - 512mbram to transcode a 4.5 or 4.6gb to single layer with no fancy menus. What would cause this spike in time usage????

Here is a shot of the system tray:

I have nav2007 but I don't see it as active just tda 2.0 is the main culprit. I haven't done a reboot yet today and I don't want to know that I'm 12% into the authoring of the movie.

Any ideas on the surge in time requirement? Sometimes it can go from a normal 30minute encode to 40 or 50 but it almost never spikes to 2 hours unless i"M having tda compress an 8gb source file. This is only roughly 5gbs and shouldn't take that much longer than an ordinary 4gb file to author. Hmm.....
