Ok, so I have an Accurian DVD player with the DIVX logo on it... except it's having major problems playing the files. I read the reviews of the player here to help solve the problem:

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=6641&Search=Search

I used the AlltoAVI program mentioned in the review to decrease the resolution on some of the files and change the audio and video bitrate. The good thing was that I did get the files to actually play, but the only problem is that the audio and video slowly desync the longer the file plays. I can get it back on sync if I rewind the file slightly and hit play, but it doesn't last long. I thought maybe it had to do with the AlltoAVI program converting the file improperly, but they play perfect on the computer. I've tried them all kinds of various ways... on a disc, through the USB port, all the different bit rates, resolution down to 400 width. And, the dvd player still cannot keep the audio and video in sync..... so i'm at a loss now. I did purchase an extended warranty on the player so I'm thinking about returning the thing!

My audio and video skills are limited so any help would be fantastic....

I would just use AutoGK with the MTK compatibility turned on to reencode the AVI files. I have this player and it works great for everything I pull out of AutoGK.

Also, on a side note, Radioshack service plans just cover product replacement, not refund. Hence, unless your player is less than 30 days old, you're stuck with it. It's worth making it work.

  3. Also try AVIRecomp. I don't know if it lets you reduce the frame size though. A general hint: use constant bitrate audio. Many players have problems with variable bitrate MP3.

I downloaded the AutoGK program, but the only thing I saw about MTK was during the installation. (I downloaded those components). What are the best parameters to use for this player from your experience?

I'm pretty sure most of the files I've been attempting are VBR so I'll double check on that

I just used the recommended settings. During installation, choose the MTK compatibility. If you didn't choose it, you can get to the options menu by pressing Ctrl-F10 or Ctrl-F9, or something to that effect. I generally let the program choose the resolution automatically. I did choose 128kbps MP3 for the audio. It's a pretty straightforward program.
