I just saw this in the weekly Best Buy ad, but doing a google search didn't bring up much information. I'm in the market for an HDTV anyway, and I had been planning on picking up the 23" Samsung LCD HDTV and getting an LG LDA-511 DVD player......... but then I saw this thing, and it sounds pretty interesting. Does anyone know anything about the details of the DVD player that is built into it? It says it plays DivX, so I assume it must be somewhat similar to other LG DVD players that can play DivX/XVid, but I'm hoping someone knows for sure what is in it. Thanks!

In my experience, most of the combo units are average at best. I would stick with individual units.
For a good DVD/Divx player, take a look at this one: http://www.oppodigital.comGoogle is your Friend -
Thanks. I went down to circuit city and best buy to take a look at this in person, and the TV portion sort of underwhelmed me. I think I'll stick with something else.
The oppo sounds really good. Do you get the same benefits if your HDTV only has HDMI, and you hook it up with DVI to HDMI?

Yes it does, if you order directly from their website, they include the HDMI to DVI cable for free.

I bought that TV, the LG 23LX1RV, it does plays Divx, avis, mpegs, everything....however I was wondering if theres a way to upgrade its codecs or something, cus theres 1 avi it wont play.
Dunno why, I checked the file on my PC with gspot, and its a normal divx video codec, but for some reason doesnt plays that movie, Any of you knows a website or something that could help me on this?
PS: The only CONS Ive found so far for this TV is that it has a milisec delay with sound when using AUX speakers.
If you plug it to some receiver or your home audio system, there will be 1 millisec delay on the AUX sound, compared with the sound that comes out of the TV speakers, its nothing noticeable in the movies, not that it will look like a bad dubbed movie or something, but you will hear a little "echo" or "reverb"....so, when Im using the AUX speakers, I have to turn all the way down the TV volume in order to not notice this.
