I have 2 xvid videos. For some reason, I can only play one of them. I downloaded Gspot (a program that tells you what format the video is) and it says that both are Xvid and that the codec isn't installed. WTF? How can I watch other xvid videos if the codec isn't installed? (FYI: I am able to watch other xvids.)
So why am I not able to watch one and not the other?

You can try loading it in VirtualDub or one of its variants, and see if any errors pop up regarding the video (also try "Scan video stream for errors..." under the Video menu). There's also DivFix, but I think that's mostly for broken indexes. I haven't tried DivFix+, so I can't comment on it.
