  1. Hey this is the 1st time I ever encountered this problem.

I am trying to backup my Disney movie of Invincible.

I use DVDFab to save to hard drive, which does successfully, but then I let SHRINK software shrink it and at about 70-80% it will freeze and sit there for about 5 minutes then crash.

Anyone encouter this same isssue w/ Invincible ?

Also what is another good way to backup my Invincible dvd then? many thanks and have a Merry Xmas!!

    Woohoo to 2007!!

  2. Disney movies have copy protection. The last couple I got had Ripguard, probably your movie has some variation of that. RipIt4Me should work for you, once it's ripped, try DVDShrink again on the ripped files.

    Good luck.

  3. fritzi,

So how should I do the step first?

1st - use DVDFAB , run Invincible dvd to add to desktop folder of Invincible

2nd - Run Ripit4me from the Invincible folder to take out the protection

    then....

3rd - Run Shrink from the folder of the Invincible file folder that dvdfab created?

    Just making sure. Thanks man!!

Just use RipIt4Me and you won't need DVD Fab.

Do you have anydvd installed? If it recognizes your external, then you can rip using the right click.

If you can get the dvd to your hard drive - run FixVTS on it, then try with shrink.

  7. Or try running FixVTS on the DVDFab rip. The purpose of FixVTS is to correct the structure, which DVDShrink is notoriously sensitive to. Not sure why you couldn't run RipIt4Me, is it set up correctly?

    Good luck.

Pretty much anything that removes structure protection (ArCoSS or Ripguard) has a high chance of leaving a damaged disc on your HDD. FixVTS cleans this up, and is worth running if you use AnyDVD or DVD Fab Decrypter. RipIt4Me does it be default.

This is good to know. I have FixVTS on my computer along with a lot of other free software but I often forget what they are used for because I have been using payed programs predominantly. But I find myself using the free programs recently. Would FixVTS have taken care of the problem reported on numerous forums about All The Kings' Men "looping" when AnyDvd was used to make the backup? AnyDvd updated yesterday to 6.0.9.9. Among the list of improvements it stated that "New strategy for removing bogus title sets, will preserve pgc commands for better compatibility and reliability with structural comp protections."
