Is there a way to add support to SVCD2DVD for converting HD transport stream files to create HD-DVD using SL or DL DVD media? Current SVCD2DVD will take an HD transport stream and downconvert the file to DVD (720x480) format however could you add support for the program to re-encode the HD .ts file to a lower bit rate so that it would fit on the appropriate size SL (4.7GB) or DL (8.5GB) DVD? This would allow the user not to just create SD DVD but HD DVDs. It really would work the same as current SVCD2DVD has to reencode the file to fit the blank disk provided, so really all that would be needed is to tell the program to keep the 1080i or 720p resolution of the .ts. Would you consider this?

If you'd prefer, maybe it should be named HDTV2HDDVD

HD DVDs are not supported (at this time). HD-DVDs are not authored the same as DVD-Video and there is no/little "technical" specifications availiable....

    ChrissyBoy,
Many people are already burning HD-DVD's using standard SL and DL DVD media with other software. This is a potentially large market. I would respectfully request you review, The Official AVS Guide to HD DVD Authoring which will show you how its done. The process would be much simpler and improved if using HDTV2HDVD
    Regards,
    Rick

Well yes that is an interesting thread... It is the "authoring" that i know nothing about when it comes to HDDVD. In that post it is cited as "Create the HD DVD folder on your computer with Ulead Movie Factory 5" - this is was i was refering to before, in terms of little info out there. I will look into it and may well get something together for you to test, if i get anywhere (as i can't see myself having a hddvd player in the near future).
