I'm using Dvd shrink 3.2 and dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0. Half of the dvds i burn, skip, start and stop or just play badly. Half work great. 4 different players usually the same result. Any suggestions to what I'm doing wrong. Thanks, I'm new at this.

    Hi clavin29,

    Welcome to the forums.

What disks are you burning to? What you describe is often poor or damaged media (disks).
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

It is generally considered to be in the lower 25% of media because of the manufacturers Imation choose to source from.

Try Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or TDK. Also, burn with Imgburn 2. Then see if things improve.

Try RIPPING the problem DVD discs back to your computer ... then play them from the HDD using PowerDVD or WinDVD and see how that goes.

If it plays OK then you just need to burn again with a good burning program (ImgBurn 2.x) and good DVD media (Verbatim 16x DVD-R or Taiyo Yuden 8x or 16x DVD-R).

    It may be that simple.

Then again it may not be LOL

  6. You can also try burning at a slower speed. Imation disc arent exactly the best disc and Ive found that out the hard way. Thats when I tried burning at a slower speed the disc worked fine. Not all, but most. Use them but dont get them again. Now I either buy TDK or Verbatim.
Better yet buy them online . Get 200 count for about 44 dollars @ shop4tech. Best of luck.

You didn't tell us what brand of drive you are using.

Some brands of drives are more media sensitive than others.

Your drive should also have up to date firmware. If your drive does not have the proper media strategy for the Imation disks, the results will be poor.
