I want to play TV audio through computer 5.1 speaker set.

Here's what I have done. I connected TV (audio out left and right RCA) to computer soundcard line in. 5.1 speaker set is connected to this soundcard as well. Sound plays well to all speakers from when played from computer. But TV sound can only be heard when I set 5.1 computer settings to use only 2 speakers. Is there any work around this. I thought but maybe theres some kind Pro Logic software available for PC soundcards as well but sofar I havent found any good specific information on that issue. Anybody knows something?

Are you talking about playing back live??? While your tv is going or are you recording it to the computer and then playing it back later???

If you are recording it to your computer and playing it back later you can easily use software players like powerdvd and set it to a surround matrix mode to pipe it through all your speakers.

IF you are watching the feed live you need to use your soundcard speaker settings. YOU should have a surround mode to play out of all your speakers regardless of source mode. Dig around your player settings and look for matrix surround or even dolby pro logic. It would be in your speaker configuration setting.

I want to hear sound from my computer speakers and watch TV from TV screen live. Because my computer is almoust like running all the time I want to take use of 5.1 speakers connected to my PC for TV as well. I can easily switch off TV inside TV speakers to direct sound to somewhere else in my case to computer soundcard. But the problem is there are no other settings for sound card only channel modes like 2 speaker .... 6 speaker. Now in both modes I got the sound through but only front speakers will play the sound.

I forgot to say that I dont want to watch TV on computer only want to hear TV sound through computer 5.1 computers.

You are only sending your PC two audio channels. Where should it get the other 4 channels from, to send to the other 4 speakers?

Well yes thats my question?! Is there any software that can work with this line in source and give me 5.1 sound like receivers work with Pro Logic.

You need to find your surround field selector for your sound card. I have a usb creative device that has EAX on it. It is really just the surround modes it can do. Your sound card will have a similar feature somewhere. Check your manual. This will simulate the surround from two channels.
