  1. Hi hopefully someone can help me out on this. I have a DVD and on the packaging it says

"This is a PAL/Region 2 DVD WHICH WILL NOT PLAY ON STANDARD US DVD PLAYER-you need a multi-region PAL/NTSC compatible DVD player to view it."

I live in Canada so obviously I don't have a PAL machine. IS there a way for me to Reencode or rip this DVD on my PC? If so how?

    Thanks
    ~Kyle.

Have you tried play it? your dvd player may support pal and can output it as ntsc for your tv.

If you want to convert to it to ntsc search for "pal to ntsc" for 8 millions different methods. Easiest is probaly ConvertXtoDVD, open the video_ts and choose ntsc and convert. You must rip it to the hd first with dvdfab decrypter.

Your question is asked at least a dozen times each week.

Buying a region free DVD player that also converts between PAL and NTSC(and vise versa) is infinately easier than converting the DVD via your computer.

This isn't really the right forum for this question.

The Philips DVP-642, only one example of many, sells in the US for roughly $55 and if you enter the correct code on the remote control (see the DVD Players section or the DVD Hacks section on this site for the info - look at the columns on the left for the links) you will change it into a region free player. It can convert PAL DVD to NTSC output. If you buy a player that can convert, it is essential that you set the TV output to NTSC. By default, most converting DVD players set the TV output to something called "Multi" which is NOT what you want!

I don't recommend at all that you try to convert this DVD from PAL to NTSC. It's really not worth the effort and you'd be better off to just buy a DVD player that can convert PAL DVD to NTSC output so you can watch PAL DVDs in the future if you want.
