    Well, the title kinda explains it all. Just wondering if there is any way to play Pal discs in a North American pc. Thanks.

    reset the region code of the drive to match the dvd. you are allowed a couple of resets before it locks. some drives you can find a region free hacked bios for it. DVDFab Decrypter may allow you to copy the main movie only as it removes all protections.

    The first ever software for unlimited usage of your DVD drive was DVDRegionFree (DVDIdlePro). IMO it remains the best one (some people prefer AnyDVD).
    By no means use hacked firmware, this method is out of date since there's a risk to lose your drive.

    I've done this several times and never had a problem, but it's not for novices so the advice to avoid it is generally good. If the original poster is a techie and comfortable with the idea of flashing a DVD drive, it's a reasonable option for people who don't want to pay for software programs to do this.
