I recently burnt some AVIs onto a dvd for a divx dvd player(it plays the files perfectly), but the files names of the files are really messed up like 1AFDVF342V53F3F and so on, is there a way to correct this? The actual file names of the files are normal when my computer reads them but not the player.

    Thanks

My guess is that this particular player only supports SHORT FILE NAMES (like DOS--8.3). If you were to rename them to something supported, it'll probably leave them alone.

  3. 8.3 filenames: use only upper case letters, numbers, underscore, and only one period -- the one between the eight character name and the three character extension. Do not use spaces or other non-alphanumeric characters. Example:

    GOOD_123.AVI

    ^This.file&name~is$not(so)good.AVI
