After days and days of experimentation and research of learning about video compression, I finally realized how people get some of these DivX/XviD files to look so mind-blowingly good... I'm pretty sure it's through the use of filters. Like "Smart Smoother High Quality" and etc. Now I guess these filters are normally deployed through Virtualdub or Avisynth...

My question is, is it possible to enable these filters somehow to be used with Fairuse Wizard? How exactly does fairuse wizard work? I swear I saw it launch virtualdubmod at some point. Would there be a way to enable these filters then to be used in Fairuse Wizard's encoding?

    Thanks in advance.

Any reason why it needs to be Fair Use Wizard? Gordian Knot is another great app and allows you to use AVIsynth filters (btw, check out "SeeSaw" and "FFt3dfilter" from the AVIsynth world -amazing)

Yes, I want to make it as simple as possible. I want to have an all-in-one dvd->xvid program, in which I can graphically select clips of the movie to rip if I don't want the whole thing. It has to be easy, something that my girlfriend (non-computer geek) can use.
