Do these both use the same encoding engine? I've been testing the TMPGEnc Plus 4.0 eval version and it works well for what I'm doing (converting home movies from 8mm to DVD).
I'm getting ready to purchase and wondering if DVD Source Creator would work as well? My main criteria is maintaining the video quality and getting as much as I can on a DL DVD.
Thanks for any input.

DVDSourceCreator is an older application and will not add any new features. TMPGEncXpress3(4) has twice faster encoding engine than the still popular TMPGEncPlus2.5 + other advanced features. If you want a good addition to it I'd recommend TMPGEncDVDAuthor2 for authoring DVDs and TMPG MPEG Editor for cut/join/mux work with MPEGs.
