I think the title just about covers it -
im getting 2 scan lines moving up the screen when my computer is hooked up to the tv. Im using an ATI radeon 9800xt connected to a 36' tube tv, using the s-video cable.
im wondering if there is anything i can do to get rid of the problem
also, will the quality be any better if i hook it up with a dvi/vga to component converter cable? the tv isnt high-def or anything, so i think that s-video pretty much maxes out the pipe

Check you video cards settings for frequency output refresh rate ... wrong value possible
Beware of items that may be producing localized interference ... mobile phone's ... pc too close ... ect
Try not having both pc and tv on same power point ... seperate them . -
Only two scan lines?
Lines moving up or down the screen usually are caused by crosstalk with another device that is running at a slightly different vertical frequency. Try turning off other devices like VCRs or DVD players to see if the moving lines disappear.
Disconnect every other cable from the TV one by one to see if the lines disappear.
Finally when all other cables are disconnected, run a long extention cord back to the computer and plug the power into the same outlet as the computer. If the lines then disappear, you have a ground loop problem.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
