    Hellow All!

    I wonder how Youtube converts the different movie format to .flv so quickly. I know there are lot of applications for converting to .flv. But is this is happening as an automated program? Like any one is uploading video and it is live in a few minutes. is there any software which automactically converts the file to .flv? or is it done manually?

    They have several fast servers and yes it's automated.

    You could use for example ffmpeg on the server and let it automatically encode files that are uploaded. How you do it depends what OS and coding you prefer, PHP, Perl, Visual Basic, msdos batch, etc.
