I use nothing but default with an accoassional Verify is I really feel I need it.

I wouldn't change from the default settings unless you really understand exactly what each control does. I did shut off the sounds, as I find them irritating, and I set the burn speed to 12X for my 16X media, but I leave the rest at default with no coasters yet. I didn't have any problems at 16X either, just a little insurance.
Are you having problems with your burns? -
Yes I get Waiting for buffers to recover... and Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level.... I try to burn two at the same time.

Try making the buffers sizes bigger may help. You can always set everything back to default. And if your hard drive is very full or hasn't been defragged in a while, you might make some improvements there. If you have only one hard drive with the OS on it, a second hard drive will improve throughput, also.

I will try that. Would you happen to knwo how much bigger I can make it?
