when im using ffmpegx to try and convert an avi file to dvd it says headers are not complete, trying to guess time increments. what does this mean. also after its done the video is very choppy.

Since you are using ffmpegx, I am going to assume you are probably using the Mac OS. It would be very helpful if you would fill out your computer details, then we wouldn't have to guess your OS and version and you would likley get many more useful responses.

You can try to repair .avi files with a corrupted index using the Fix Tool in ffmpegX.
