Hello, I just bought a Sony 8mm CCDTR83 (1995). The video works great either on a TV set or after capturing on my computer. There is no audio coming through either from my old tapes or on a new one with new recordings. I have tried a different audio/video cable set and same proble.
Any ideas![]()
Thks, Davco

Do you have the manual for it? Maybe a switch or setting on the camera?
-
Can you hear the sound thru the camcorder speaker, when you play back ?

Checked the manual, checked the settings in menu, can either have Stereo, 1 or 2. Even with the cam corder plugged into the TV and in record mode, the video is working but no audio.
Thks, Davco -
If you don't have sound thru the camcorder speaker, then you have a broken camcorder.

yep...even camera stores pawn off units that have no sound as fully functional because sound is rarely checked
trust me on this one
