    Whats the best program to convert AVIs to Mpeg 4 so I can play it on my Ipod. Best quality and no skipping. I use AVS Video Converter but I think its a little sketchy, was wondering if theres something better.

    Megui with x264 will give you the best quality. And for free. Of course, this isn't a one-click-and-go approach, but you can look it up and try it.

    I actually use 3gp converter, and get really good quality. FFMPEGX is great if you have a mac.

    I couldn't agree more... in my opinion it is the best freeware available for iPod video... it is also very simple to use.

    As for payware, I use Jesterware iPod Video Suite and the results are great... http://jesterware.co.uk/ipod_video_suite.htm

    Can probably be done with QuickTime Pro and MPEG Streamclip too.
