hy everybody
I realy have a problem. I've tried burning dvd-s with nero, like usual, it doesn't work. I've tried with Roxio Creator Classic buning dvd-s,no chance.
But the only problem that I have is that the cd-s are working fine,I can burn cd-s but not dvd-s although I have dvd writer.
Does anybody know what might be the problem...
Thanks in advance!

That's not enough information to even guess. What is the problem? Describe the steps you are taking to burn the disc. Nero generates a log when a burn fails. What does it say?

When I press BURN, nero ejects the dvd although it's empty. It's not recognizing the dvd-s and I've tried with many new dvd-s.Originally Posted by redwudz

alintatoc,
It would be very helpful if you could post a "Test Mode" burn log from ImgBurn. It would contain the details needed to troubleshoot your problem.
If you don't already have it, ImgBurn is a freeware burning program that gives information even if the burn aborts as soon as you click the "Burn" button. A "Test Mode" burn doesn't actually write to the disk, so you can use the disk later. That's assuming that you are using dvd-r media. If you're using dvd+r media, "Test Mode" is a real burn, and it may cost you one disk to get the log. -
Now I've noticed on ImgBUrn log : FAT32 does not support single files bigger then 4gOriginally Posted by VegasBud
Is this the problem?
If I format in NTFS am I going to have this problem again?
Thanks -
alintatoc,
No, that almost certainly isn't a problem, at least your current problem. It just means that one of your drives is formatted as FAT32. Dvds use 1 GB file chunks, so the 4 GB limit doesn't matter.
If you'll post that ImgBurn log you're looking at, we should be able to see what the real problem is. The log shows what happened, when it happened, and (if there is an error) what the error was. Without a log, it's all just guesses. -
I've formated my comp anyway because windows had some problems but now when I try to connect the external dvd writer to the comp I get "usb not recognize". All the other external devices work ok but I don't know what's happening with the dvd writer.Originally Posted by VegasBud

What's the unknown device? -
alintatoc,
Unfortunately (in this case), I've never had problems with USB, so I was never forced to learn how to troubleshoot problems with it. The only time I've seen a "USB device not recognized" error, it was cleared up by changing to a different cable.
If you're lucky, someone more familiar with hardware troubleshooting will come across this thread and help you with the USB problem. If not, here's a link to a USB troubleshooter. I'm afraid that's the best I can do for you. -
It's very strange about the usb, the dvd writer used to work. Also couple of days ago it was connecting to the computer but not I get over and over again usb not recognized.Originally Posted by VegasBud
