  1. Cheers

My MigliaMiniHD is working very fine and I have had a lot of help here.

the downloaded files are in a folder called .eyetv it contains several file types as mentinoned here before:

.eyetvi .eyetvp .eyetvr and the key one: .mpg

QTPro will not look into the eyetv folder to open the .mpg I have now the pro and mpeg-2 add on.

Streamclip will if I ask for "all files" not just video files. If I open files this way and put them in "batch" with SC and use Sorensen3 the resulting file type is a .mov. a 800mb initially at 640 x480 that I make into a 320 x 240 and that ends being a .mov of about 700mb.

I then use BatchExportUlility to take a lot of the above .mov and make the 3ivx 320's and those files end up being about 180MB which is fine for me

the ElGato software that comes with it will allow me to open the .mpg and edit it and then save it with a Divix component that might expire (??) into a 320 x 240 .avi of about 180 mb.

but it seems BUE won't open .avi files as far as I can tell to bbatch these smaller.

    any ideas why?

the batch function helps me a lot as i then do a lot of these at night unassisted

    thanks

First, I know next to nothing about MigliaMiniHD or ElGato's EyeTV. But here as some thoughts anyway.

1/ If the 180MB is fine for you, then why try to make the 180 mb Divx even smaller?
2/ Is your 'BatchExportUlility' the Livid Batch Export Utility v1.2? Because that one takes my AVIs happily.
3/ The QuickTime DivX encoder from DivX.com expires (after 6 months) if you don't pay, but not the decoder (playback component). Not sure if that's the same as ElGato uses, or if encoding or decoding expiration is your worry.
4/ I don't see why you mix 3ivx and DivX. Pick one and stick with it; they do basicly the same.
