    I need a good .avi codec so i can save videos using Virtual Dub

    ** They don't fit to DV standard, which is why Panasonic DV is not working with these

    Which should i use? thanks

    does huffyuv generally result in very large file sizes?

    What do you want to do with the video ? If you want to do further editing and therefore retain the original quality then Huffyuv or Lagarith would be good, however they will be big - 20 - 40gb per hour depending on the content.

    If you want to compress them down for viewing, but don't need to do anything else to them, then look at Xvid.
