My 5 year-old trv120 has developed choppy playback and frequent tape crumpling. Are there steps I can take before sending it for repair?
Thanks,
Pete

Sounds bad. A replacement on ebay or craig's list might be cheaper than Sony's mega flat rate.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

You need a head cleaner ... looks similar too the tapes ... the crumpling is caused by the head dragging on the tapes ... other than this (several tries) ... you will need to see a professional camera outfit to carry out the required service's .
The drive gears may also be worn if it is well used .[/b]
