I apologize but I just haven't gotten the answer I'm looking for. I'm into directing short films, music videos, commercials, etc. as a hobby. My camera only records onto dvd, so when I rip the dvd to my computer to edit, the quality is cut into less than half. Is there a program that rips the dvd into a high quality format. Time and space is not a concern. I am just looking for a way to rip my dvd's to my computer without ruining the quality. Money on the other hand is a concern though. If this program could be a trial or just free that would be extremely convenient. Thankyou for your time.

  2. DVD Decrypter can rip it (bit for Bit),Or just drag and drop, quality will suffer when (Re-encoding). or try and use a MPG2 Editor. like mpeg-vcr

Another method is to use a program like VOB2MPG. This will convert the VOB to a MPEG-2 that can be edited with most any MPEG editor.

For some reason the Program you gave me isnt converting to an mpg format. It wont open in Vegas but vegas says it can handle mpeg files.(main concept mpeg2, is that the same thing?) Why is it converting to a different file type? How do I know if its in an mpeg?
