I used TDA to author a few videos and the outcome ends up like 6gigs when its done authoring. The sum of the source files equals to 4.1gb. This has never happend to me before, and I have used TDA for a long time.

Not sure if this might have have had any affect on that...

Originally I converted my avi's to mpeg1 using tmpenc. But then all my videos lost sound after 6 seconds. SOmeone told me that tmpenc dont like files that has mp3audio, which is what my avi audios are. So what I did was extract .wav files and used that as audio source and my avi's as video to make mpeg1 files.

When in TDA even as I bring in a files I can see how much space each clip is taking. The total was about 4gb total. After authoring it ends up being 6gb. As of right now im trying to author it with exactly half what i originally put in there (2gb), to see how big the output gets.

    Any ideas?

It sounds like you are ending up with Uncompressed PCM audio, which east a lot of spce - about enough to add 2 GBs to a project.

Convert the audio to AC3 with ffmpeggui before importing everything into TDA.

If that is the case, Is it normal for the authoring program to not that that into account at all.

Also I followed a step by step tutorial on wav to ac3 using BeSweet and AC3Enc from a threat on this forum, I even get a log that says its complete but the outfile is no where to be found. I even did a search of my system for .ac3 files. This is why I just used the wav as audio source.

**edit: after closer inspection of the log, there was an error and ac3enc couldnt be initalized =(

You can let TDA turn your wav into mp2. With the AC3 plugin, even to AC3.
Easiest for wav to AC3 is ffmpeggui

  5. 2GB of 48K/16-bit stereo LPCM would be nearly 3 hours in duration (~173 minutes).
