    Hi,
Thanks for your help. My question is that I have a wire connected from my computer to the TV, and the TV shows my desktop but when I play a video, it plays on the monitor but doesnt show on the TV. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have used WMP, RealPlayer, VLC Player, and Winamp but nothing works. THanks a lot!

Try this: In VLC: 'Settings>Preferences>Video>Advanced Options' (Check this- It's near the bottom of the page) Then uncheck the 'Overlay video output' that should now be showing.

If that doesn't work, in your computer: 'Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot'. Lower 'Hardware acceleration' to about 1/3 of the way across. The overlay settings are usually the problem. You can change them in some players like VLC or change them globally in the video card settings.

    And welcome to our forums.
