I have a question regarding how to do some minor editing (Chapters, music, titles, etc) on home movies that I have converted from VHS to DVD. I have a VCR/DVD recorder hooked up to my tv and have already tranferred them to DVD. Now I would like to edit them on my computer and then burn them to a new dvd. I am not a real computer savy person so please help me out. I need some suggestions on software (easy to use) that will help me get this done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get this done by Christmas. Thanks.

Personally I rip to the hard drive first with DVDDecrypter in file mode, in setup set file splitting to "none" to get one big VOB file.

For basic edits (removing commercials) and re-author (menus and chapters) I use TDA.

For better editing (titles, transitions, audio overdub) I use MVW first. It accepts VOB's and will only re-enode the necessary parts, which preserves quality. Then I use TDA to author the mpeg that MVW outputs.
