  1. So I am in need of some sort of editing software that will allow me to add transitions and the like to my families home movies. I have used Pinnacle Studio 9 and I really like the transitions (they have all of the requisite gaudy, dopey types my family just loves!) but I hate the program. From what I've read it sounds like the best two options are Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas and I was wondering which you would think would work better from someone who really likes MPEG Video Wizard for editing MPEG2 videos. I am working with DV files in this case though, so I need something that will let me edit the files and save them as uncompressed AVI files (which Pinnacle lets me do... in theory at least if it doesn't crash).

As much as I don't like to promote this crappy company, I'd say S*ny Vegas might be easier for you.

Best is to download trial versions and try'em out yourself (if possible).
