I'm making about a 15-20 minute movie, and as it gets closer to completion Media Manager (MM) has burped several times. It gives me an error message and closes down the MM. To get it back up, I save the veg, and exit Vegas.

I suspect that I'm running out of something. I have 1G of memory and lots of HD space. However, since I'm somewhat new to Vegas my organization of material in MM is not exactly all that good. Every media file is in one long list, 207 items to be exact. Is there some way to reset or clean up strange links that have formed? Any relevant comments? Is there some diagnostic tool that will help pinpoint the trouble?

At this point in the project, I probably cannot afford to move upt to 7.0 (I think there's one). I have not the finest access to the web, no broadband to my house. In a pinch, I can get to a broadband facility in a pinch.

I've more or less done that, but I'll mention some new items that may be of interest, and usefulness. I discovered Project Media, and it clears out unusued files. When I restored MM, I could see all 200+ files again, so I used the clean up in PM. It did something but appears not to have any affect on what I see in MM. Maybe I need to use PM on the specific MM folder.

Ths item bugs me but has probably no association with the problem this thread addresses. In the right lower window, at one time, I had PM, Mixter and VP (video preview). Each was tabable. I started moving PM out to get better views. When I attempted to put it back in the original window, it took up all the vertical space from top to bottom, but did not appear in the tab. For awhile, it was blocking the PM tab, which I just needed or used as above. How do again make it tabable?

I can see that I have many Gs of files in MM, and some are not used. Perhaps I should clean them out? I was hoping PM would do that.

Oh, I have 6b, and I'm pretty sure there are additional 6s, which might be necessary to fix my problem. I do not really want to invest in 7.0 at this time.

I think the last version of 6 was 6d.

FWIW, I don't even install media Manager anymore. I cancel the installation, then turn it off in options. I don't do anything large enough to justify it.

Ah, I found the option to get rid of MM. Bye, MM. It was fun for awhile, but PM looks like a better choice. I'm moving again.

Oh, solved the tab problem. I just needed to move VP into the upper left corner where the doc dots are, and it went back on the tab.
