I'm in the process of converting a ton of VHS movies to XVID so I can place several on 1 DVD for playback on my Phillips 5140 player. I usually capture the to MPEG-2 using my All-In-Wonder card, but cropped so that it will show everything on my regular TV. The question I have is: in AutoGK should I select the 640 resolution or leave it 'auto'. I have a done a few of these using 'auto' and now my cropping is gone (the AIW doesn't actually 'crop' the video, it just adds blackspace to allow for viewing of the whole picture on a regular TV). I capture at 720x480.

Also, I've heard 2 sides to what the audio should be set to in AutoGK. Some guides say to select VBR and some say use CBR. What is best and at what bitrate. My goal is to watch the results on regular TV (not HDTV).
