  1. im trying to convert a msmpeg4 v3 avi file to xvid with autogk
but all i get is a agk_tmp folder with 4 files in it (very small avi file, avisynth script, txt doc and vcard file) in the main folder a txt log file is created.. but no xvid avi file
ive followed a guide for autogk .. https://forum.videohelp.com/topic273901.html

when hitting start vdub pops up and start to processing the window is blank though..
and finish the job in 8 minutes around..

    whats wrong?

  2. You probably need a decompressor for the msmpeg4 v3 codec. I believe the fourcc code is MP43. Look for an MP43 codec. ffdshow can decode MP43. Be sure to enable the VFW MP43 decoder.

  4. EXCEPTION: Unsupported audio type.
So what kind of audio is it? Open it in GSpot if you don't know.

  5. its
    codec 0x0055 MPEG-2 Layer 3
    info 24000Hz 32 kb/s , Monophonic

in stats it says Codec(s) Installed

can i add this audio codec to vdubmod somehow?

  6. You probably have a DirectShow codec installed for that audio, but VirtaulDub needs an ACM (older Windows sound processing) codec. You need an ACM MP3 decoder.

  7. My guess is it's the crummy audio. If you can convert it to WAV first and then mux it back into the AVI, my guess is that it'll take it. Or maybe remove it entirely and mux it in after the video is encoded.

  8. i installed the ACM MP3 codec but it didnt work either.. so im converting it to dvd first
with convertxtodvd and then with autogk to xvid.. but takes so much time ..reason is i wanna play them on my external dvd player..

  9. Open you source in virtual dub.

    Then video->direct stream copy
Audio -> full processing -> audio PCM uncompressed

Save as a new avi and encode. VDub processing is fast only a few minutes to do this.

  10. thanks.. it did work.
but the audio became screwed up ..unsynced

so using this dvd method.. avi to dvd and then with autogk to xvid
    but takes like 40 minutes

Did you get a warning about incorrect VBR audio when you opened the file? If so, try using VirtualDubMod instead -- and when it asks if you want to fix the header answer no. Then follow cd090580's instructions.

Note that audio processing is a little different in VirtualDubMod. To decompress the audio select Streams -> Stream List. Then right click on the audio stream and select Full Processing Mode.
