nero showtime "drive not ready"

Samsung SH-S182D & NeroShowtime

When I insert a DVD in this drive, and select NeroShow time to play, i get the message, "Drive not ready."

This is false, as if i set the drive to autoplay and Windows media player, it will play.

How can I correct this message for NeroShowtime?

Have you tried uninstalling Showtime and reinstalling? You could also run Nero InfoTool and see what it says about the drive. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Info_Tool.html

Or just use a different software player if all else fails.

I have subsequently found out the problem in case someone else runs into this.
this error message is generated when you have two DVD' read/writers on your computer system and nero does not know which one to use. my error went away when i ran nero burning and specified a burner to use and/or specified two burners and to choose.
