Hi i have A nec burner installed on my pc. I thought it was software related problem meaning i updated to the latest nero and it was screwing up. so i uninstalled it and installed my old version of nero that never gave me a problem. After that i decided to create a dvd and after clicking burn for some reason it will just give me errors that it cant burn but not explination. When i tried to use the CDtool in nero to test it i cant even test it. Also i installed CloneDVD and same thing gives me errors about insert a valic DVD disc but ive tried 3 different ones. I updated the firmware and it didnt help. Is it something software related or is my burner finally dead and not capable of working please help thank u.

Did you use the Nero Clean Tool after uninstalling Nero? Nero sometimes leaves 'remnants' that can interfere with a reinstall.
If you have tried different media with no success, try a different burning program like ImgBurn. It is regularly updated and should work with about any burner.
Probably won't help, but uninstall the IDE channel the burner is on after you use Nero Clean Tool. Uninstalling may reset the burner so Windows can read it again.
If all this fails, you can try cleaning the laser lens on the burner, but I doubt that's your problem. The firmware flash didn't mess anything up, did it? But you did that after the problem started.
I wouldn't say for sure the burner is bad, but it's one possibility if all else fails.
