Magnavox MPD845 region hack ... I must be doing something wrong ...

Hi,

I've recently started buying other region DVDs (I live in R1), and I own the above mentioned portable DVD player. I've already read the hack that's listed here, and I also read the post from earlier this month indicating that the hack worked for that person. Having said that, I'm at a complete loss. I use the remote control and follow the instructions *to the letter*, but I can't get the hack to work.

1 Power on
2 Press SETUP
3 Enter the Preferences menu
4 Press 224455
5 Press LEFT, DOWN
6 Press the button for the region you want (10/0 = multi- region)
7 Press SETUP

I get as far as the entering the Preferences menu, but when I try to enter in the numbers "224455", nothing happens - and as a result, nothing else further down the list works either. If *anyone* can help with this, I'd be eternally grateful.

You may also have a newer version of the player and all of the codes are now locked. If the player was meant to be region free, you wouldn't need a hack.
