This is probably a really stupid question, but here it goes.
How do I get this unit to charge???
My husband won it at work in a game/raffle type of thing, and it was a display model there. They didn't have the correct wall cord (not even sure that is what is supposed to charge it) and we cannot figure out to charge it. The only cord that came with it was this cord that plugs into the "DC IN 9V" and it has + & - next to it in diamond shapes, and plugs into the wall. If we do that, we can watch DVDs on the Unit, but we can't charge it.
There are a bunch of other areas you can plug things in, something on the bottom of the unit that isn't named. And the other plugs on the sides are listed as - AV Out, Coaxial, DC Out 5V, AV In and then that DC IN 9V area.
So, any suggestions? We were going to ask for a replacement one at his work, but it was the last one they had, thus the reason they were giving it away. We'd love to figure this out, as we are heading on vacation at some point this year and would love for the unit to hold a charge.
Thanks,
Kat

Most portable players charge whenever power is supplied to the unit. From your desciptions above, the only power input is the one that you are already using. So you likely have a faulty unit (have you verified that it has a battery or batteries?
I cannot find the user manual online and the magnavox website states to call for all support issues: 1-800-216-5156Google is your Friend -

If anyone has this unit, and can tell me where the battery goes in, or anything at all about this unit it would be very helpful.
I can supply photos of the bottom plug if needed, as I said, it doesn't have any writing on it. -

The battery is installed by simply lining up the battery with this notch on the player and sliding the battery to snap it into place. To remove the pack, there is a slider switch on the end of the battery which releases the lock and the battery can be slid to remove it. From the way your description it sort of sounds like you don't even have a battery pack. You may just be powering the player with the wall AC adapter. There is a 4 pin plug on the rear bottom of the player mates with a matching plug on the battery. If you can see this connector on your player, you don't have a battery. Hope this helps.chaneym -
Thank you. You are right. I don't have a battery, it didn't even come with one.
Any idea if you can buy one for this unit? And where? -
Try contacting tech support and getting the part number. They can likely sell you one, but if you have the part number, you can likely get it cheaper elsewhere.
