  1. when asked for url of an avitar image what do you do if the image is too big and you want to resize it?

    Use an Image editor to resize it to the smaller size. If you need something resized,Let me know and I can help you out...Welcome to the Forum as Well

    I've also used Animation Factory to create animated gifs for avatars. http://www.animationfactory.com/en/#

    On their mainpage, click 'edit' on a sample animation. When it opens on a new page, click 'File open' and you will see where you can upload your image to their site. Then you can edit it as you like, then save it back to your hard drive. It's very easy. There are also a lot of animations you can download there.

    A animated gif is about 8 frames that cycle. You have to reduce the resolution and the colors used to keep the filesize small enough for a avatar.

    I didn't make the avatar I use here, though.
