  1. Hi, i have been authoring dvd9's and burning them quite successfully using dvd lab pro, pgcedit and imgburn (from the guide on this site )!! until now.
For some reason when i author the dvd using dvdlab pro and make the image file using pgcedit and then burn using imgburn, my dvd player doesn't recognise the disc and says "No disc" I tried it on my pc, however although the disc plays, the pc also seems to think it is an empty disc!! It is only when i direct power dvd to the disc will it play. I have followed the guide closely and have never had problems unitl now. I use the exact same programmes, disk's (verbatim DVD+R DL) and now have 2 coasters because of this.
The only thing is when i load the img in imgburn it says that the dvd has not been authored correctly and is missing a VTS_01 ?? When i check the dvd folder VTS_010 is present?

As said before i have used the same programmes successfully and it is only now that i am getting this problem. Before i waste anymore disks can someone please help me out

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you updated DLP recently ? Version 2.0 had a few bugs, and a 2.1 update has been released to address them.

  3. I also have similar problem.
I used DLP 2.1 and Nero 6.6.1.4 to burn the resultant VIDEO_TS
    on Fujifilm DVD+R DL.
I works OK on PC (with VLC) but on player (DVP642)
I hear like "boop" and then blank screen.
I don't even see ROOT menu
Remarkably, if I burn it on DVD5+RW (not the whole stuff, of course)
    then it plays OK (!?)
I use 2.4 speed to burn.
    ....
Ok, I deceided to try once more and this time I used
Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.2. And it worked!
    Shame on Nero!

All the posts in this forum from anyone whose opinion I would trust say do not use Nero for burning DVD9. Use the pgcedit method for setting the layer break, and imgburn2 to burn to disc.

  5. Somehow I don't like the idea to create ~8Gb (!) ISO file.

Why not ? 8gb is fine for a DL disc.

If you are trying to create a single layer disc then you are doing something very wrong to get an 8GB ISO, but for dual layer this would be acceptable.

IMGBURN 2.x now has its own option for setting the layer break (so you might be able to skip the PGCedit step).
