Video Playback Distorted

Hi guys,
I'm facing a problem on my PC realted to video and i though this would be the best palce to post it becuase most of you are really thorough with the subject.

All the video that i play comes abolutely discoloured. This is happening with my TV playback software and with Windows Media Player 10. When i use MPC. it plays fine and in other players it's messed up. What do i do to sort it out? I hope I dont have format my PC for such a thing. I'm counting on all the 'brainos' here at VideoHelp.

Another thing guys. I just checked - this problem is only occuring in the overlay mode. I tried diabling the overlay mode in WMP and it worked fine but i got to use the overlay mode in my tv playback software.

Is this all video, or just particular files ?
If particular files, what ahve they been encoded with ?

All the files! Another thing guns1inger, could you posts alink too where i can read somethings about "Overlay Mode".
