    I just got a new TV-Tuner card in the mail today and the software that was included with the card is usless and won't boot up when clicked on can someone recommend a full featured application that will allow me to watch tv and record video to mpeg1,2,4 VCD and DVD ? my new tv-tuner card is a PCCHIPS TVP3XP I would use wintv2000 but thats only for happauge TV tuner cards.

    i believe most of the really good ones are going to require hardware mpeg encoding..pcchips doesn't sound like it's going to cut it.

    Well this one can encode to mpeg. But I need a video capture software in order to test my new tv-tuner card. the software it came with called powercolor MTV 878 won't even install at all thats why I am asking for a good recommendation for capture software.

    You might have a look at the tools section of this site. It has a 'capture' category all by itself. Look for the rating perhabs and - try...

    It is difficult to say sometimes, which sw works best for you, as set-up of systems and peripheral devices varies so much. It is also very much up to your own preferences, which captured material you like most in connection with quality, etc. Read up!
