    hi, i need soome help... i tried converting fro WMV file to AVI file ... when i finished i tried playing on VLC player but there no sound at all.... does anyone know why does this happen? and how i should go about doing it?

    I have just the same problem! I tried converting separetely video an audio. Then I muxed them, but the resulting sound was very noisy comparing with the origin.

    Simply, ffmpegx is not the best video application to handle wmv.

    WMV is Microsoft closed format stuff, so only Microsoft handles it. Try installing flip4mac, which enables Quicktime to read WMV. Then use ffmpegX with "Decode with Quicktime" enabled.
