Took 5.5 hours of my friend's soccer games. Converted to xvid @bitrate 1200 and mp3 sound@128. Format=avi. 720x480.
I wanted to watch on commercial DVD player. So, the avi file when through tmpgenc 3 xpress. Video Bits = 1550vbr, audio bits = 128mp2, screen size = 352x480, and set output to progressive scan.
After writing to stndard dvd. The results were like original dvd movie!
I tried downloading 5 minutes clips from divx.com and done the same through tmpgenc3 xpress. And wow, the results were very close to dvd.
I've done many 352x240 @1500vbr and the quality is, well, slightly better than vcd. But 352x480 at 1550vbr quite close to DVD. What i'd like to understand is that the quality should not be so great. What's happening?
