hi there, im new to all of this so please be gentle....i recently purchased a sony handycam DVD camcorder...the one that uses the small 8cm DVD discs....

the camera works fine and you can take the discs out of the camera and put them in a DVD player they play fine....

the troubles i am having is when i copy the small dvd's to a normal sized disc on my laptop....

the camera came with a free program called nero vision express.....i used it to copy the films from the small discs to a bigger disc but when i played it there is no sound....

if i use a program called DVD shrink i can copy the contents of the disc onto a normal sized one and the sound works fine....but i really wanted a program to edit the video as well as adding some titles ect....

so i gave up with the free software and tried downloading a few demo programs....

    and guess what....no sound!!....

now from doing a little research i have sound the sound from the camera is in AC3 format which is dolby digital.....

i found a program called showbiz from a company called arcsoft which is real easy to use...but it wont work with the audio from my camera....

eventually i found a program called ulead video studio 10 and this seems to work fine with the sound....but i find it a little clunky to use and the picture quality is not as good as the original discs after you edit it about a bit....

so im stuck with a problem....i need an easy to use video editing software package but not many seem to support my AC3 sound format of the DVD discs im producing....

i have tried downloading all sorts of patches and update and even the AC3 codecs....

but no joy....the small discs will play fine on my PC but its just the editing of discs i cant do...

is there a simple solution to my problem or do not many programs support AC3 audio...

and can anyone recommend some good software that will solve my problem....

MVW, free trial available. Will only re-encode the necessary parts which keeps video quality. Accepts AC3 but will convert it to MP2, which you can still use for a DVD.
