I've done this before, but I'm missing something. I hook up my camcorder to my DVD player, and I can see a DVD playing in the LCD window of the camera. I then hook the camera into the PC (via the DV port on the camera) to capture it in Vegas 9. A soon as that happens, the image disappears from the LCD Play/Edit window, and an attempt to use Capture Video shows no device. It's looking for a tape. If I have a tape in the camera, and no hookup to the DVD player, then Vegas acts normally. I can capture the tape. What am I missing in the case of the DVD player?

Hmm, there may be some option in the camera that helps. Off to find my manual.

Nope. Not in the camera, but my notes in the camera manual mention Preferences Enable DV or something. Ah, got it. Tunr on DV Out. It's now working.
