    Hi guys,

What do you recommend using to convert from VOB to AVI ? It would be great if I could convert (say) four VOBs into one AVI in the same process, without having to join them afterwards.

Freeware would of course be best.

    Thank you.

  2. Look in the guides. There are some guides to do just that.

Use DGIndex to make the m2v file and extract audio.

Use VirtualDubMod with XVid codec to convert to AVI.

Use BeSweet and BeLight to convert WAV audio to AC3 or another format.

If you want to process the video with some filters before conversion, then you can also use AVISynth and various filters.

All of these are Freeware. You just need to look in the Tools section to find them.

  3. OOPS! Forgot, use VOB2MPG to combine all of your VOB's together in one MPG file.

  5. Only done this once.

Easy to use VOBMerge to join the VOB's and VirtualDub MPEG2 with the XviD codec to encode.Go to Video compression options and select XviD and configure the settings.
You can install the Lame ACM codec for MP3 audio and the AC3 ACM Decompressor for AC3 audio. Then you go to the Audio full processing mode and choose the audio codec and bitrate you desire.
