How is the pause/interval between the tracks on a Vcd suppose to appear? On my vcd, -when one video/track end, it hold the last frame/image of that video for 5 sec.(5 sec.default setting) until the next video/track starts up. I would rather expected/want when a track end, then screen would be black color for 5 sec. intervals.

Is it something wrong with my mpeg files, or is it just how Nero 5.5 are suppose to handel it?

  2. So what you want is a black screen running for 5 seconds on each track?

There are various ways to do this. You could to join in some black frames at the end of each clip and keep the default to 5 seconds OR join 5 seconds of black video and set the default pause from 5 to 0.

A third alternative (easier if you want to do this alot) is create a single .mpg clip which is blank (black) and copy this to every second track.

    video 1 ----track1
    black clip ----track2
    video 2 ----track3
    black clip ----track4
    video 3 ----track5

This can be just a black bmp picture imported into mpeg with any video editing software OR (fourth alternative) you can use VCDAuthor and set it up to play one black video mpeg clip each time a video clip is played - although this might also be possible with VCDEasy which is easier to use.

    video 1 ----track1
xml call to play black clip (track 4)
    video 2 ----track2
xml call to play black clip (track 4)
    end vcd play
    black clip -----track4

Any VCDEasy questions are best posted here:

lajo - If you burn VCD/SVCD with Nero, it freezes the last frame of the video. That's just how Nero does it. I used to pad my videos with a short black screen clip before burning with Nero just to prevent this. The 5 second delay is a default and can be changed to a shorter length. I used my video capture card to capture a few seconds of black screen with no audio from an old laserdisc at VCD and SVCD resolutions and kept that around to add to the end of my video clips when editing. You will need a video editor to do this. I use MPEGVCR.

Another option is to just use VCDEasy to make your VCD and you can change the delay at the end to whatever you like. VCDEasy creates BIN/CUE image files. You can burn those with Nero if you like. I don't recommend Nero for VCD/SVCD creation. Nero doesn't comply with the standards for such discs and you may have problems on some DVD players playing VCD/SVCDs you have created with Nero.

Many thanks to both for your advice Now I got several options to go ahead with this. If I don't manage the MPEGVCR editing, I'll have to throw in some dark-screen-clip between tracks in brutal manner.
