I got a region free Cyberhome ch-dvd300 thats been working fine for a couple years (BritCom Fan) so I just bought the 45" LCD Sharp Aquos and decided to use component outputs on the dvd player - but all I get is a blank greyish-blue screen, so here's what I did;
1) Hooked up the Cyberhome using COMPOSITE cables and outputs; it works fine as ever.
2) Hooked up the cyberhome to the second input of the tvs' component inputs (using component
cables of course); the greyish blank screen is all I get.
3) Hooked up my non-region dvd player, Sony, to the tvs' component inputs; both work fine.
so , my cables and tv ports aren't suspect and it's isolated to the Cyberhome player.
There is no scrolling or anything else happening when the grey screen is there, i.e. just a plain grey screen like its waiting for a signal.
I would like to get the component outputs working, but not lose my non-region setting ( I see from this site it's sometimes "iffy" getting some settings to change, and work).
Any ideas?

Only "slightly" dangerous...

Many players have a setup menu where you have to choose the output type.
